Always "family owned" and especially "family run"

Hello,

When you shop at Baron's, you're not only supporting ethical and sustainable farming. You're also putting your weight behind a local, multi-generational family business.

Baron's Meat&Poultry first opened in Brooklyn, New York in 1915. The Baron family had arrived in America just a few years earlier as Jewish refugees fleeing religious oppression. This kosher butcher shop ran until the 1970s. David Baron's great-grandson, David Samiljan, would eventually carry on the family business in California.

We referenced this history in our first logo, which had a dragon inside the 'B'. It stood for the family's Eastern European background.

We even had an earlier draft that had David Baron in the 'B'.

When we started opening more locations we changed our logo to be a bit more readable. If you're interested we can do a deeper dive into that change.

Baron's Quality Meats&Seafood is still family owned and operated. David Samiljan, the owner, oversees the entire enterprise. His eldest, AJ, runs marketing (hello), while his younger children run IT and bookkeeping.

We're incredibly fortunate to have a great staff of managers and butchers who keep Baron's running. When you buy from us you're supporting local workers who care about the products they sell and the customers they serve.

All the best,

AJ with Baron's
